Summary:
This document gives a brief overview of the Mauna Kea Adze Quarry that is located on the island of Hawaii. It describes the provenience of the new super230TH dating method that was used in which to refine the chronology of this site that had previously been based on radiocarbon age-determinations alone. It also discusses the implications that the dates that are now available for this site have for understanding the chronology of toolstone procurement strategies, the scale of production, and the ritual practices of the mid-14th to mid-15th centuries AD.
