Summary:
During a study that was done where the predator-prey interactions between the Polynesian rat and (Rattus exulans) and seabirds were observed on Kure Atoll, the westernmost atoll in the Hawaiian Leeward Islands, this document describes how the Polynesian rat attacks the nesting Laysan Albatrosses and how the albatrosses seem to be reluctant to leave their nests under adverse conditions and seem to have no adequate defense against rats who attack them while protecting their nests.
