- In this document, the author describes the remnant population of the threatened species of the Newell (Manx) Shearwaters that were seen on the island of Molokai. He also mentioned seeing eleven Koloa (Hawaiian Duck), that were found at the Waipio Peninsula on Oahu, and a Japanese Quail hen with five newly hatched chicks that were seen at Ainapo Ranch near the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park on the island of Hawaii. A remnant number of shorebirds were seen at Laysan Island such as numerous Ruddy Turnstones and Golden Plovers, two Bartailed Godwits, and non-breeding Bristle-thighed Curlews. Hawaii's first Caspian Tern was seen at the Kaneohe Marine Corps Air Station on Oahu and a pair of Hawaiian Crows were seen on the island of Hawaii but a sighted nesting of the endangered Akiapolaau on Keauhou Ranch was found to be unsuccessful.
