In this document, the author describes a Laysan Albatross colony that was seen at Kilauea Pt. on Kauai in July, 1978, a Green-winged Teal duck that was seen at the Waipio Peninsula on Oahu, and 14 scaup were reported seen on the island of Hawaii. Tattlers, that are usually only coastal winter visitants, were surprisingly seen in June at Waihee Ranch on Maui that is located approximately 3 miles from the sea. Other birds that were seen on these on the islands were the Ruddy Turnstones were seen at various units of Pearl Harbor and at Waipio on Oahu, in addition to approximately three Least Tern that were also seen at Pearl Harbor and four that were seen at Kii Pond. On the island of Hawaii, it was estimated that more than 50 individuals of the endangered Hawaiian Crow were seen on the Kona coast and the Hawaiian Thrush that had been virtually unknown in the Kona area, were seen in the extreme South Kona area where 3 - 4 individuals were found. In addition, only three endangered Honeycreepers were sighted in the Kona area and fewer than 100 Hawaii Akepa and Hawaii Creepers, and less than 20 of the woodpecker-like Akiapolaau were found. Approximately ten Lavender Fire-finch and up to 100 Saffron Finch were seen in the Puu Waawaa Ranch area. On the island of Kauai, numerous common Mynas were seen on Sand Island and a single individual of the endangered Kauai Oo was observed.
