Subject:
Silene Hawaiienis
Summary:
In this study, populations of S, struthioloides and S. hawaiiensis from the Hawaii volcanoes were analyzed by enzyme electrophoresis. Silene is constantly migrating establishing new colonies and losing old ones. Founder events are accompanying recurrent colonizations. Restricted gene flow among populations has led to genetic drift and isolation.
