Summary:
When lowlanders travel to high altitude, it has been found that oxygen deprivation impairs one's mental and physical performance, their quality of sleep, and their general well-being. This paper considers ways in which to improve tissue oxygenation in people who work at high altitude by comparing the effects of ventilatory acclimatization and the oxygen enrichment of room air.
