- Summary:
- This document describes the Subaru Telescope and other telescopes that consist of very large single-piece mirrors or mirrors are shaped like honeycombs. Also described are the obstacles that were overcome such as warped and fuzzy images or images that were distorted by the Earth's atmosphere as was produced by these large mirrors. However, through the development of super strong ceramic and glass materials that are highly resistant to temperature changes and allow for thinner reflective surfaces, these obstacles were overcome and allowed for the construction of these mirrors to be more feasible. This will allow for astronomers to look farther into space than humans have before as they peer into the origins of the universe.
