- Summary:
- The Wekiu bug, Nysius wekiuicola, is a micropterous lygaeid that is endemic to the aeolian deserts that surround the 4206 meter elevation of Mauna Kea, on the island of Hawaii. This species appears to be the sister species of Nysius wekiuicola Ashlock and Gagne, but is easily separable based on the differences of the body shapes and sizes of the two species. Here, detailed morphological comparisons between the two species are presented and are accompanied by a distribution map and figures of key characters.
