Summary:
Gorse (Ulex europaeus) is a woody legume that has been officially classified as a noxious weed species in the State of Hawaii with its infestation occupying more than 4,000 ha of agriculture and conservation lands on the southeastern slope of Mauna Kea on the Island of Hawaii. As a result, the aim of this investigation was to identify the ecological features that are associated with this weed invasion. This was done by comparing the gorse-infested areas to surrounding areas that were not infested.
