Mauna Loa Gravity Mauna Kea
Summary:
In his comments published in 1926, the author said that occasionally one heard the statement that Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea were essentially hollow mountains. This idea arose from the fact that when gravity observations were taken years before on the two mountains, it was found that the actual attractions of the mountains masses were less than the computed amounts based on their bulk and average specific gravitis of the rock of which they are composed.
