Summary:
This study examines the community-wide effects of biocontrol agents that were introduced into the ecosystem of Hawaii on the islands of Kauai and Hawaii, the potential environmental damages that were caused by the control agents, the interactions among the plants, moths, and moth parasitoids in a native forest, and the indirect effects that the biocontrol agents has on the ecosystem. It highlights the importance of considering the potential damage that could be caused by an introduced control agent, in addition to the damage that is caused by the target alien species.
