South Lagoon is primarily used for research vessels and private boats. 2. Point, fishing site, mooring site, Kahuku, Hawaiʻi. Southernmost point in the United States. The mooring site is at the base of the sea cliffs at the end of the point. The deep waters off South Point are a famous fishing site, especially for ʻahi, or yellowfin tuna. Also known as Ka Lae. 3.
