kūkaepuaʻa
/ kū.kae.puaʻa /n., A weedy, creeping grass (Digitaria pruriens), native to Hawaiʻi; some introduced species of Digitaria are also sometimes called kūkaepuaʻa, as D. sanguinalis and D. adscendens (syn. D. henryi); a plant form of the pig demigod Kamapuaʻa. Literally, pig dung.
