  4. Before 1954 there was a hotel by this name near the site of the Hawaiian Village Hotel, Waikīkī, Honolulu.

Niumalu

  1. Beach, Kailua, Hawaiʻi. Small pocket of calcareous sand on the north side of Huliheʻe Palace. Also known as Kanuha Beach.
  2. Beach park, ramp, Nāwiliwili, Kauaʻi. Small beach park fronted by mudflats at the mouth of Huleʻia Stream. The ramp is used only for small, shallow-draft boats. The community of Niumalu is best known as the home of Paul Puhiula Kalakua Kanoa (1802-1885), governor of Kauaʻi from 1847 to 1877. Kanoa planted an Indian Banyan tree on the two-acre parcel where he lived, a tree that is on Kauaʻi County's list of exceptional and therefore protected trees.
