/ ʻumi.ʻumi /1. n., Whiskers, beard, goatee, mustache; tendril; barbel or feelers on lower jaw of a fish; suckers that fasten bivalves such as the nahawele to rocks; rope used for hauling unfinished canoe hull from the forest to the shore.
