/ ʻō.hao ʻī.lio /n., Insulting term for kauā, outcasts; they were likened to dogs (ʻīlio) tied (ʻōhao) and waiting to be baked; similarly kauā wore small gourd pendants as insignia that they were to become human sacrifices.
