Wailau Archives: April 2021
The 2nd Wailau event with the theme "A Just World" premiered on April 24, 2021 at 2:00pm. Watch below:
Student hosts Kuʻuhiapo Jeong and Dayva Escobar along with our topic expert Carlton Ruley, from the Hawaiʻi County Office of the Prosecuting Attorney’s Restorative Justice Program, hosted the second Wailau event. The stories were filmed on stage at UH Hilo's Performing Arts Center. Our hosts and storytellers joined us for live chat during the premiere.
We applaud our brave storytellers, sharing their stories of “A Just World”:
- Evangeline Lemieux, “An Apology”
- Nicholas Iwamoto, “I’d Like a Large Order of Justice With a Side of Justice”
- Taylor & Antoinette Smith, “Love Should Have No Bounds”
- Kathleen Baumgardner, “Lunch in a Just World”
- Reynelson K. Martin Jr., “A Guarded Reflection”
