Special Events, Community Relations & Government Affairs
The Special Events Office is responsible for planning, developing, organizing, and coordinating special events, community relations & government affairs programs for the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo.
Supervise and coordinate the logistics of special events; develop events and programs that enhance the University's image and relationship with visiting dignitaries and the general public; develop protocol and procedures for special events; organize manage and maintain a master campus-events calendar for all campus sponsored events.
Develops and directs community outreach programs, represents the University at various functions and disseminates information to the public and community groups to promote the image and involvement of the University.
Tracks and monitors legislation that enhances the academic quality and growth of the University and conducts investigative research using various government agency resources as needed.
