This is a sample academic plan for students entering on the 2023-2024 catalog. Students should meet with an academic advisor prior to registration to formulate their own plan. The optional Medical Anthropology Track allows students to focus on evolutionary and cross-cultural health and illness. Since ANTH 375 and ANTH 463 are no longer offered, we are allowing for course modifications if students choose a class from the Indigenous Health Certificate, another health-related course that has cross-cultural content, or an approved directed studies.
To ensure progress toward degree completion, students are urged to meet with an advisor each semester before registering.
Students must earn at least a 2.0 GPA in courses required for the major.
Students must earn at least a grade of C in each course required for the major.
Students may demonstrate proficiency at the 200-level in archaeology, physical anthropology, cultural anthropology, and linguistics in place of taking the required introductory anthropology course. Consult an advisor for other courses that will allow students to demonstrate proficiency in these areas.
At least 45 semester hours must be earned in courses at the 300-400 level.
