Notes

  1. To earn the BA in Performing Arts, students must earn a C or higher in all required Performing Arts courses.
  2. Performing Arts Majors must complete at least 35 upper division credits (300-400 level).
  3. Applied music fees are in addition to regular tuition. For Applied music courses and fee structure, contact the Applied Music Coordinator and consult the Instructor at the time of registration.
  4. Students enrolled in MUS 135, 136, 235, 236, 435, 436 are required to participate in student recitals and juries and to be co-enrollled in a Performing Arts Ensemble.
  5. No more than 12 semester hours of Ensemble courses may be applied to the upper division total required for the major.
  6. Students enrolled in DRAM 350 who have no previous sewing experience also must enroll concurrently in DRAM 350L: Stage Costume Laboratory.
  7. Senior Seminar: PART 395 or PART 399 (1)
  8. Required Senior Project: PART 495 or PART 499 (3)
  9. Ensemble Courses: DNCE 401 ¹, DRAM 490-490L, MUS 102 ¹, MUS 404 ¹, MUS 402 ¹, DRAM 421, MUS 406 ¹. (¹ One ensemble course is required for the program. These courses may be taken for credit as many times as desired, see instructor for details.)
  10. Leadership Courses (Choose 6 Credits): DNCE 371, DNCE 419, DRAM 419, DRAM 430, MUS 390, MUS 419
  11. Year 2 may include MUS 123/124 (Class Voice I and II); MUS 125/126 (Class Piano I and II) or MUS 135/136 (Applied Music I and II) depending on their focus within the major.
  12. Year 3 may include MUS 235 and MUS 236 for students seeking to emphasize music in their degree plan.
  13. In years 3 and 4, student focus on electives should be on further emphasizing their own area of focus, choosing courses that meet the university's elective requirements.
