Notes

  1. The following courses must be completed with a "C" or better: All geology courses listed above, MATH 125, CHEM 151-151L, PHYS 106-170L, and the non-geology alternative courses substituting for geology core courses.
  2. At least 36 semester hours must be earned in courses numbered 300-400. Requirements in the major supply 30-32 of these.
  3. Upper refers to upper division (numbered 300 or greater.)
  4. CHEM 161-161L may be substituted for CHEM 151-151L.
  5. PHYS 170 may substitute for PHYS 151.
  6. MATH 241 may substitute for MATH 125.
  7. Schedules will vary with the results of the math placement test. Some students will take MATH 140X in the fall and MATH 125 in the spring. Students that test into MATH 125 can take any QR GE course for the "second math course" in the spring of year-1.
  8. Two of the core courses (GEOL 330, 340, 342, 370) may be substituted with selected courses from Geography, Marine Science, or Soils.
  9. GEOL 370 is a GCC course, so students taking GEOL 330-370 sequence may take a general elective instead of a GCC course.
