Lecturers (English Language Institute) (#LECTURER) Position Description

UH Hilo, College of Continuing Education & Community Service (CCECS), part-time, non-tenure track, special funds, for lecturer candidate pool, assignments as needed, starting August 2013, contingent on availability of funds and actual staffing requirements.
Teach ESL credit courses to international students; maintain office hours as appropriate; prepare daily lesson plans; participate in faculty meetings; advise students and evaluate their progress. Coordinate and/or teach short-term programs.
MA in TESOL or Linguistics OR MA in related field with substantial coursework in TESOL. Successful, recent experience teaching academic ESL in a post-secondary institution; knowledge and understanding of current theory and methodology in ESL; demonstrated ability to work with a diversity of students and cultural backgrounds.
Experience in ESL curriculum development; experience working with computer-assisted language programs and distance learning curricula; overseas/cross-cultural experience; evidence of professional development and involvement in the field of ESL.
Minimum Salary $1,334 per credit hour
