Relocation Basic Requirements (For UH Hilo use only)

In accordance with the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017, all moving (relocation) expenses are no longer deductible and are considered reportable income. As a result, Administrative Procedure 8.863 in regards to relocation allowances has been updated, effective November 1, 2018 (See the AP 8.863, Relocation Allowances). Relocation allowances will be processed through Payroll via a PNF and paid as a one time lump sum payment in the employee's first paycheck.
