Take Back the Night - Survivor Stories

Ongoing until April 24th

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. The Office of Equal Opportunity/Title IX and the Student Activities Council are collaborating on an event occurring April 25th called Take Back the Night. This event seeks to raise awareness and combat issues like sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, and stalking. One part of our event involves the sharing of personal experiences from willing students who have been victims of the aforementioned issues; these stories can be submitted anonymously, so an individual's identity does not have to be known. We are currently seeking those stories and encourage those who would like to have their stories told to fill out the Google Form at https://goo.gl/forms/QWPLMffmpfmvNZ6R2.
Because this subject matter can be overwhelming for the individuals sharing, as well as those listening, below are a list of on campus and off campus resources that can help you:

Take Back the Night

Tuesday, April 25, 2017, 5:00pm - 9:00pm
Location: Campus Center Plaza

The Title IX Office
and Student Activities Council invite you to Take Back the Night, an event to combat issues like sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking. These issues happen in our own community and we want to not only make people more aware, but also show students how much support they have. There will be on-campus and community organizations tabling to show their support, as well as having additional resources there so students know what their options are if something happens. This event will include a tie-dye section, sign making, a march to show our solidarity and live music. There will also be free food and giveaways!
