Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How do I schedule my test?
A: After your instructor has submitted the necessary documents, you can call (808) 932-7882 or email hilotest@hawaii.edu to schedule your test appointment. We cannot schedule your test until all material is received. All testing is by appointment only.
Q: Can I take a test today?
A: All test appointments must be made at least two business days in advance and no same-day appointments can be accommodated.
Q: Where are you?
A: UH Hilo's Testing Center is located in PB-9. The parking lot can be accessed through Kapi'olani Street.
Q: When are you open?
A: The UH Hilo Testing Center is open Monday-Thursday and closed on all state holidays. Testing appointments are available at 9am, 11am, 1pm, and 2pm, pending availability.
Q: What do I need to bring?
A: You need a government-issued ID (like a driver's license) or a UH Hilo student ID to begin your test. You will also need the device you use for Duo-Push.
Q: Can I bring a bag?
A: All belongings must be placed into a provided locker before entering the testing room. You are only allowed to take things like notecards or scratchpaper in with you if it is approved by your instructor. All scratchpaper is provided by the Testing Center.
Mobile devices are not allowed in the testing area.
Q: What happens when I come to take a test?
A: You will be asked to provide an ID, store all belongings in a provided locker, empty your pockets, and lift all sleeves and pant legs. You will leave your phone with a worker, go into the testing area to log in, return to your phone for Duo-Push, then place your phone in your locker.
After you are done with your test, you can retrieve your belongings and check out with a worker.
