The UH Hilo Samoan club is a very active group, founded in 1982, with members from American Samoa and Samoa, formerly known as Western Samoa.

The Samoan club participates in many college community events, such as United Nations Day, International Nights, Merrie Monarch Hula Festival and so much more.

Performances feature traditional dances and modern dances: Sasa, ma‘ulu‘ulu and taualuga. These dances and songs are a part of everyday life in Samoa and tells stories about plants, animals, land and people of Samoa.
