Self-care related to mental health trainings

This training covers sensitive topics including depression, anxiety and suicide. Those who are grieving a recent loss (within 2 years), especially to suicide, or those who are currently struggling, may find a suicide prevention training very difficult.

Please take the time to truly evaluate your readiness to participate in any suicide prevention trainings. Some may find it more comfortable to complete the training in a supported group setting. Others do the training individually, but then find that they have questions or would like to debrief. The UH Hilo Suicide Prevention Program and Counseling Services are available for either.

Please email kingchey@hawaii.edu or call (808) 932-7465 with questions, to schedule a training, or to schedule a debrief session.

What do I need to use Kognito?

  • Internet access
  • To turn off ad-blocker on your browser
  • About 30-45 minutes OR you can always stop, and return as you please
  • A printer (if you would like to print the certificate at the end)
