SCUBA Class

Basic Level Class

Divers swimmingDivers swim along the ocean floor.

We offer PADI first time divers looking to become certified. Each class comes with a SCUBA T-shirt!

To sign-up for the class you will need to take a swim test at the Student Life Center Pool, then come into the outdoor office!

We are offering the 4 Saturdays each month for the diving classes!

Advanced Class

This class is for certified divers that would like some more diving experience in order to increase their skills and learn some new tricks of the trade. There are five ocean dives with this class. One of the dives will be a deep dive (below 60 feet) and one will be a navigation dive.

Prerequisites: Open Water Certification

We are currently only taking a waitlist for this class. We are working on finishing some open water classes first before doing this class.

Rescue Diver

Diver Waving

This class teaches you about how to prevent problems and how to help if there is one. This class is for the experienced diver, who goes diving often, and wants to be a better diver and buddy. This class focuses on everything from self-rescue to finding and removing an unconscious diver from the water.

Prerequisites:

  • Advanced Open Water Certification
  • Current Pediatric and Adult First Aid/CPR/AED
  • Logged at least 30 dives

This class will be held November 16th and 17th.

Enriched Air/Nitrox Diver

This class teaches you about how to analyze oxygen enriched air mixes and how to safely dive on these mixes. The benefit of this is decreased surface intervals, longer bottom times, and less nitrogen building up in the body.

Must be open water certified

Project Aware Dive Against Debris

This is a class to help get in some fun dives and help clean up some local dive sites!

Class - TBD

Divers Alert Network and the PADI Oxygen Provider class

These are held on the same day. This class is a must if you are doing lots of diving or planning on working in the diving industry. Please come in and talk to us about the next class.

Peak Performance Buoyancy and Fish ID Specialty Diver

This is a class to help perfect buoyancy and get some dives in for fun!

Divemaster

This is the first professional level of diving. It is an intensive program including an internship and lots of book work. Upon certification you will be certified to help instructors in classes and lead groups of certified divers.

These are ongoing classes throughout the year.

Prerequisites:

  • 40 logged dives
  • Rescue diver Certification
  • Current Pediatric and Adult First Aid/CPR/AED
  • Current Oxygen Administration
