Graduate Research Projects Investigating Climate Change Impacts on Hawaiʻi Island

These graduate projects are funded by the Pacific Islands Climate Science Center (PI CSC) and developed through the Tropical Conservation Biology and Environmental Science Program. The manager-based graduate projects are founded upon the 4 themes of the Pacific Islands CSC's Science Agenda. The relevent themes are assigned accordingly in the project descriptions below and are as follows:

  • Theme 1: Guidance for Anticipated Intermediate-Term Climate Changes
  • Theme 2: Potential Effects of Changing Climate on Freshwater Resources
  • Theme 3: Anticipating and Addressing Change in Coastal and Low-Lying Areas
  • Theme 4: Forecasting Sustainability for Resource Management and Planning
