Professor, Marine Science
As a professor of marine science, Dr. Beets has extensive research experience in coral reef community ecology and tropical marine fisheries. He guides the Manager Climate Corps and UH Hilo's broader contributions within PI-CASC's regional professional networks and research efforts, which bridge natural and cultural resource managers, policy professionals, communities, and interdisciplinary research teams in support of adaptation to climate change impacts across the Pacific.

As Director of the UH Hilo Office of Research and Community Partnerships, Sharon serves as co-lead for UH Hiloʻs PI-CASC supported efforts and helps coordinate them with other university collaborative programming efforts.
