Shara Mahoe

Shara is serving as the Interim Director for New Student Programs here at UH-Hilo since January 2016. Prior to moving into New Student Programs, she served as UH Hilo's Campus and Community Service Coordinator and Chartered Student Organization (Board of Media Broadcasting, Board of Student Publications, Campus Center Fee Board, and Student Activities Council) Advisor. Before moving back home, Shara worked for Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska as a Graduate Apartment Coordinator. She also served as the Sales & Events Coordinator at the Bernice Pauahi Bishop Museum on the island of O╩╗ahu.

Shara earned her Masters Degree in Conflict Negotiation and Dispute Resolution with a concentration in Student Affairs Administration from Creighton University. Her Bachelor's degree is in History with a minor in Native American Studies and a minor in American Studies from Creighton University.

Shara's interest with the field of student affairs came from having amazing advisors who made sure students find their passions and create their own stories.
