Comics Artist Jon Murakami at English Brown Bag

Location: Campus Center 301

Jon J. Murakami is a Honolulu-based comics artist and the artistic genius behind several series of comic books and strips, including Gordon Ranger, Ara Rangers, Edamame Ninjas, Calabash, Generation Gap, and University of Diverse City. He is also know for his line of Local Kine greeting cards, and for his children's picture and board books. Murakami was born and raised in Hawai╩╗i and obtained a BA in fine arts from UH M─ünoa. He will discuss his career, writing technique, and provide the audience with insight into the creative craft of comic writing.
