Depression Screening

Location: Library Lanai

Have you been feeling down or have lost interest in things you have usually enjoyed? Are you concerned about someone who has been feeling this way?

Almost half of all college students report feeling so depressed at some point that they have difficult functioning. UH Hilo Counseling Services is holding a free depression screening. Stop by the depression screening information table to find out how you can participate in a confidential, free, in-person screening and speak with a counselor to review the results. If necessary, appropriate referrals can be made. Participants may also find information on depression and other mental health information for themselves, or how to help a loved one or friend.

Students can also access this anonymous online screening 24 hours a day:
www.ulifeline.org/hawaii/self_evaluator

The screening is for yourself or a friend and screens for 13 common conditions that college students face, identifies problems, and provides information to assist you in deciding how to reach out for help.
