Art for Keiki: The Mural Project

Location: PB-7 (Meeting Room)

Join Kellie Miyazu and Dena Nakahashi for a unique art experience! Students will learn the techniques of mural design and painting, and will create a permanent mural on the UH Hilo campus. Students should wear appropriate clothing for outdoor painting, and be prepared with sunscreen, water, hat, etc. Class is limited to 8 students.

Class is for children ages 8-10 years old.

All materials are provided.

Dates: July 31 - August 4, 2017, Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 12:00pm
Instructor: Kellie Miyazu
Instructor Bio: Kellie Miyazu has attended California College of the Arts and is a graduate of the University of Hawai'i at Hilo with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art. She has spent the past several years doing design work for various University of Hawai'i at Hilo organizations. Currently she can be found teaching art at Waiakeawaena Elementary School and at the East Hawai‘i Cultural Center, where she also sits on the Board as the Designer-In-Residence and as a​​ coordinator for their Summer Arts Program. In addition to teaching, and her digital design work, Kellie is also a freelance artist with a passion for drawing and painting.

Special Restrictions: Tuition: $155

Students should wear appropriate clothing for outdoor painting, and be prepared with sunscreen, water, hat, etc. Class is limited to 8 students.

Class is for children ages 8-10 years old.
