Art for Keiki: Mixed Media

Location: K 107

Students will explore a variety of mediums, both traditional and non-traditional, including watercolor, paper sculpture, and relief printing. They will expand their creativity by developing both 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional projects. In addition, students will learn to develop and plan their ideas through sketching, and incorporate dynamic elements with color and texture.

Class is for children ages 7-10.

All materials provided.

Dates: June 19 - July 12, 2017, Mondays & Wednesdays, 4:30pm - 6:00pm
Instructor: Kellie Miyazu
Instructor Bio: Kellie Miyazu has attended California College of the Arts and is a graduate of the University of Hawai'i at Hilo with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art. She has spent the past several years doing design work for various University of Hawai'i at Hilo organizations. Currently she can be found teaching art at Waiakeawaena Elementary School and at the East Hawai‘i Cultural Center, where she also sits on the Board as the Designer-In-Residence and as a​​ coordinator for their Summer Arts Program. In addition to teaching, and her digital design work, Kellie is also a freelance artist with a passion for drawing and painting.
