Night Photography Field Course Part 1

Location: PB 7

In this class students will learn how to manipulate their DSLR to take better and more captivating night photos. Learn how to manipulate the camera’s settings to adequately capture typically difficult low light subjects like the moon, and how long exposure can capture movement. The beginning of class will focus on the basic camera techniques and settings used for low light photos. The remainder of time will be spent at various locations practicing class skills. Weather permitting, potential locations include walking through Hilo town, Hilo Bay, Coconut Island, and the night glow from Halema'uma'u crater.

Michelle Shuey
Dr. Michelle Shuey is a UH Hilo Geography and Environmental Science faculty and has been semi-professional landscape photographer for over 10 years. Dr. Shuey is Pennsylvania native, who has won numerous photographic awards for her creative photography.

Special Restrictions: Required: Basic camera skills & Student provided Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) or mirrorless Camera, remote shutter release, and tripod.
Tuition: 85.00
