United Nations Day Speaker

Location: UCB 100

In recognition of United Nations Day, Robert Skinner will be visiting UH Hilo to speak about various functions of United Nations bodies that work together to tackle challenging global issues such as the global refugee crisis and climate change.

Mr. Skinner is the Director of the United Nations Information Centre in Washington, D.C. He was appointed in 2015 by United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon. Prior to this appointment at the United Nations, Mr. Skinner held leadership positions in the United Nations Foundation New York Office as Executive Director and the United States Department of State as Deputy Spokesperson at the United States Mission to the United Nations in New York. He was also a Public Affairs Officer for the United States Embassy in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago.
