Microsoft PowerPoint for Educators (2-day workshop)

Location: 891 Ululani St, 2nd Floor (SeniorNet Lab)

Have you heard of “Death by PowerPoint”, “PowerPoint fatigue,” or “PowerPoint-induced sleep”? PowerPoint presentations are so prevalent these days that the mere name of this software has become synonymous with “boring” and “mundane.” Can PowerPoint be used effectively to enhance and not impede teaching and learning? Workshop participants will examine the academic values of PowerPoint and explore real-world teaching situations, which can benefit from the use of this presentation software. This workshop will include a discussion of current practices, experiences, and success (or horror) stories about using this software as a teaching tool. PowerPoint tips and teaching techniques will be shared with participants.

10/5 Mon & 10/7 Wed 10am -12pm (2-days)

Instructor: Cynthia Tanaka M.ED

Special Restrictions: Prerequisites: Basic Microsoft PowerPoint experience. Ability to operate a computer.

Tuition: $65
