Guest Lecture: Colin Hourihan, UN World Food Programme

Location: UCB 100

Mr. Colin Hourihan, a UH Hilo graduate, will be visiting UH Hilo to give two lectures about his career working with the United Nations World Food Programme. Mr. Hourihan has held a number of positions with this program. Since 2012, he has served as the Emergency Preparedness Officer and Civil Military Coordination Focal Point in Rome, Italy. His recent field deployment to the Philippines as Interim Head of Sub-Office focused on providing relief to those affected by Typhoon Haiyan in 2013. Prior to his work with the United Nations, Mr. Hourihan worked with the Non-Violent Peaceforce in Romania and the Institute for Conflict Transformation and Peacebuilding in Austria.

Mr. Hourihan’s lectures – which will be held from 8AM to 9:15AM on both Tuesday, April 7, and Thursday, April 9, in UCB 100 – are open to all students, faculty, and staff at UH Hilo and HawCC as well as to the general public.
