Two UH Hilo baseball players recognized by PacWest

Jordan Kurokawa and Eric Vega were recognized by the Pacific West Conference for this past weekend’s series with Menlo College.

Two University of Hawaii at Hilo baseball players were recognized by the Pacific West Conference for this past weekend’s series with Menlo College.

Jordan Kurokawa has been selected the Pacific West Conference co-Pitcher of the Week.

Kurokawa shined in his season debut against Menlo College. He gave up just two hits and struck out nine in a complete-game victory. He retired the first 13 batters in order and struck out multiple batters in three separate innings.

Eric Vega has been selected the Pacific West Conference Newcomer of the Week.

Vega was solid in his collegiate debut against Menlo College, scattering six hits and striking out six in seven innings of work. He allowed just one unearned run as UHH went on to win in extra innings.
