Kirstie Williams selected for PacWest Award

Williams has been selected co-Pacific West Conference Player of the Week.

Following a career-night and leading the University at Hilo to an upset, Kirstie Williams has been selected co-Pacific West Conference Player of the Week.

The senior guard from Sacramento, CA, scored 33 points on 11-of-14 shooting in Hilo’s upset win at California Baptist. She made six three-pointers in seven attempts.

Williams averaged 19.3 points and 2.3 steals per game on Hawai’i Hilo’s mainland road trip. Williams has scored in double-figures in four-consecutive games, averaging 17 points per game.

Williams is a psychology major contemplating a career as a member of SWAT or strategic response unit.

At UH Hilo:

  • Appeared in 22 games in 2013-14.
  • Averaged 11.7 ponits and 2.6 rebounds per game.
  • Led team with 60 3-pointers.

Before UH Hilo:

  • A transfer from Sierra College in Rocklin, CA.
  • Played two years for Coach Brandie Murrish.
  • First-team all-league selection.
  • 2010 graduate of Bella Vista High School in Fair Oaks, CA.
  • Played four years for Coach Gwyn Jackson.
  • Three-time first-team all-league.
