Political forum to feature candidates, question and answer session

In observance of Political Awareness Week, the University of Hawai`i at Hilo and Hawai`i Community College student governments are hosting a political forum Tuesday, October 1 through Friday, October 4, 2002 from 11a.m. to 1 p.m. on the UH Hilo Library Lanai.

The public is invited to attend. Candidates for governor, senate, house of representatives, and county council will be in attendance, including Gubernatorial candidate Linda Lingle and House of Representatives candidate Helene Hale. Candidates will be given the opportunity to address the audience; a question and answer session will follow. Voter registration will also take place.

The following schedule features:

* State Senate, Tuesday, October 1
* County Council, Wednesday, October 2
* Governor, Thursday, October 3
* House of Representatives, Friday, October 4
