OHA grant to Hawaiian Youth Leadership Program

The Office of Hawaiian Affairs has awarded a $325,000 grant to Na Pua No‘eau, a University of Hawaii at Hilo-based center to operate ‘Aha Opio Alaka‘i, the Hawaiian youth leadership program, for this fiscal year.

‘Aha Opio Alaka‘i is a three-year program for Hawaiian high school students, sophomores through seniors. Students learn about various issues facing Hawai‘i and Hawaiians and develop the necessary information, skills and attitude to address those issues in a proactive and productive manner.
