Kat Brady, community activist and legislative lobbyist from Honolulu, will speak at the University of Hawaii at Hilo North Hawai`i Education and Research Center (NHERC) on Monday, October 9 at 6:00 p.m. Her presentation, “Three Strikes: Throw Away Justice,” is sponsored by the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) located at NHERC. The talk is free and open to the public.

Brady is active in numerous advocacy and educational organizations and spends much of Hawai`i’s annual legislative session working on the behalf of various environmental, women’s, and social justice causes. She is currently working on overturning Hawai’i’s recently passed “Three Strikes” law for the Community Alliance on Prisons.
