’05 UH Hilo and HawCC student art exhibition on display

The University of Hawaii at Hilo Art Department invites the public to the 2005 Annual University of Hawai`i at Hilo and Hawai`i Community College Student Art Exhibition currently on display in the Campus Center Gallery. The exhibition runs through September 2005. It features work by students in painting, intaglio printmaking, lithography, drawing, photography, and sculpture.
The Honolulu Printmakers Association provided $200 for cash awards for outstanding printmaking students at UH Hilo: Rory Wick, ($100); Wei-Hsun Hogan Lee, ($50); and Rick Ravenell, ($50). Office Max, Island Natural Foods, Hilo Art and Glass, and Hilo Bay Café provided merchandise and gift certificate for awards to Mele Embernate, photography, Warren Giles, drypoint, and Ernelle Blas, sculpture. The Student Art Association provided two $50 awards for paintings done by Avra Miller and Nila Cusimano. Life drawing awards of Pitt Graphic Drawing sets were presented to Emily Dudley for her charcoal and ink wash drawing, Avery Berido for his pencil drawing, and Jacob Medina for his figure study in pencil.
