The University of Hawaii at Hilo English Department, per a grant from the UH Diversity and Equity Committee, sponsors a media presentation by Professor Katerina Teaiwa on Thursday, February 26, in UCB 100 from 6:15 to 8:15 p.m. The public is invited to attend.
Teaiwa, an assistant professor at Manoa's Center for Pacific Island Studies, will give a talk on trans-Pacific dance, popular culture, and Pacific identity. Her lecture, which will feature video footage of dance and cultural performances, is entitled Between Our Islands We Dance: A Cinematic Approach to Culture in Oceania.
