UH Hilo's Pacheco Receives Gilman Scholarship to Study Abroad

University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo student Tabitha Pacheco is the recipient of the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship to study abroad for the Fall 2023 - Spring 2024 academic year.
Pacheco is a double major in Administration of Justice and Psychology and is spending the academic year attending the University of Birmingham in England. She was awarded a $3,000 scholarship and looks forward to forming connections while in England and joining the student organization, Women in Law.
Pacheco is a Kamehameha Schools Hawaiʻi Campus graduate and plans to share her experiences on her social media platforms to encourage other students to study abroad. Upon her return to Hawai'i, she plans to outreach at her high school alma mater as well as work with the Child Welfare System where she hopes to inspire and inform others about international opportunities.
The Gilman Scholarship program supports undergraduate students with financial need and who are underrepresented in education abroad.
