CCECS offers fitness, conditioning classes

The College of Continuing Education and Community Service (CCECS) at the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo announces beginner and moderate-level fitness classes with Certified Fitness Trainer PK Soares-Mercado. Each series costs $60 and will be held in the UH Hilo Old Gym. Equipment is required for both classes.
“Lift to Thrive” is a beginners series geared toward older adults or those who are starting on their fitness journey. Classes are on Saturdays, January 30 to April 2, from 9 - 10 a.m.
“Whole Body Conditioning” is moderately-paced and focuses on functional fitness. Classes are on Wednesdays, February 3 to April 6, from 4:30-5:30 p.m.
Both series include use of light weights and resistance equipment, with a focus on balance, stability, core strength and proper breathing and technique.
