Laureta awarded Gilman International Study Abroad Scholarship

A University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo sophomore received the prestigious Benjamin A. Gilman International Study Abroad Scholarship in the amount of $5,000.
Angela Laureta, a Kinesiology and Exercise Science major, is currently studying at the University of Stirling, Scotland, and will continue her journey at Hanyang University, Korea, in Fall 2016.
The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program offers grants to undergraduate students of U.S. citizenship with limited financial means to pursue academic studies or credit-bearing, career-oriented internships abroad. The scholarship program supports students who have been traditionally under-represented in study abroad, including students in under-represented fields such as the sciences and engineering, students with diverse ethnic backgrounds, and students with disabilities.
