New date for NHERC mushroom cultivation workshop

The University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo North Hawai'i Education and Research Center (NHERC) has rescheduled its workshop on Edible and Medicinal Mushroom Cultivation to a later date. The session, originally scheduled for November 7, will instead be held on Saturday, November 21, from 1 -5 p.m.at the Center, located at 45-539Plumeria Street in Honoka‘a. The cost is $85 and includes supplies.
Instructor Zach Mermel will teach participants how to inoculate their own mushroom kits and logs to take home. The benefits of mushroom cultivation will be discussed, including how mushrooms can be used to repair damaged ecosystems and enhance the diversity and resilience of one's farm, garden, and home.
